In August, 5 students from Kirkleatham Hall School represented the North of England at the Special Olympics National Games. They performed brilliantly in their respective sports and came away with a haul of medals, Mica (3 bronze), Cian and Stuart (silver for 1st team), Ben and Luke (gold for 2nd team). All the students were a credit to our school and we are very proud of their achievements.

Inter-school competitions

Pupils are regularly given opportunities to participate in events within school time and out of school time.  Details of events and participants are kept, and achievement rewarded appropriately.  During the previous academic year and going into this year, inter-school events have included the School Games, soccability tournaments and matches, netball tournaments and matches, table tennis tournament, swimming galas, athletics meetings, basketball tournaments for both wheel chair users and ambulant performers. These sports tournaments, organized by the School Sports Partnership, have been invaluable as they have allowed our students to compete against other Special Schools in Teesside. This has helped in my role as PE coordinator in building links with other schools and has also provided the opportunity for our students to build friendships with students from other special schools during the tournaments.
