Emily Hibbert  is a trainee Teacher working in Class 7, here is what she has to say about her placement at Kirkleatham Hall School. “Becoming a Teacher is something I have always wanted to do, throughout my time at school I carried out various work experiences in mainstream schools and I loved it! However, my first visit to Kirkleatham Hall School changed my opinion of mainstream schools completely.  Although I was only 15 years old, I knew that teaching children with special needs was the   career I was going to pursue. At the start of June I was accepted onto a teacher training programme with Redcar and Cleveland SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) and was overjoyed when I got the news I would be returning to Kirkleatham Hall for my second placement. The only down side was that it would only be for half a term. The 6 weeks I have spent in school have flown by, but the support and mentoring I have received from the staff is priceless. Both staff and children at Kirkleatham Hall have helped me to develop a wide range of skills and have driven me to become a better teacher. I would like to thank everybody in the school community for everything you have done and giving me one of the most valuable experiences of my life.”
