Regional Boccia Championships
In January, 6 students from Kirkleatham Hall School participated in the Regional Boccia Championships held in South Shields. They qualified for this event after getting to the Quarter finals of the County Championship. Boccia is an inclusive sport which is very similar to a game of bowls, as the aim of the game is to get your ball (red or blue) as close to the white jack as possible. It is a brilliant game as it allows students with a wide range of disabilities to compete against one another. We run a boccia club after school on a Monday and the students are improving their skills every week. The pupils who represented Kirkleatham at this tournament were Aria, Harry, Will, Hope, Cohen and Indie. The students performed brilliantly and they won a few games and also lost a few games, this meant we just missed out on a Quarter final place this time. Well done everyone and we are very proud of your achievements.
