"Unlocking Potential"

Creative Arts Week at Kirkleatham Hall School

5th July 2024

Dear Parents/Carers

Creative Arts Week at Kirkleatham Hall School

In Arts Week, the Creative Team aims to create new opportunities for staff and students to discover hidden talents that they never knew they had. All classes will have the chance to be involved in several activities during the week.

The activities started on Thursday 4th July, when Earthbeat Theatre group were in school to work with a group of FE students. This was really well received by all the students who were involved.

The activities will continue on Monday 8th July, with a full day visit from Circurama, who provide circus skills workshops, intended to encourage the development of new skills for all (staff included) in a fun environment.

Tuesday 9th July will see Justin and James host musical sessions across the school, providing opportunities to sing and play instruments and generally have fun.

Wednesday 10th July will be Dance Day. Jenny will be hosting sensory dance sessions and something more challenging for our older students.

Thursday 11th July affords an opportunity for three groups to visit KTS Academy to experience the production of Grubbins Wood by Timbadash Theatre group.

Friday 12th July is Fancy-Dress day and sensory drama. Students and staff are invited to dress up in either a circus themed outfit, or any fancy dress of their choice.

Throughout the week classes will also be taking part in additional differentiated activities in their classrooms

We will post some pictures from our fun sessions at the end of the event.

Thank you for your continued support.

Yours sincerely

Helen Newton
