Kirkleatham Hall School are Boccia County Champions
In November, 3 students from Kirkleatham Hall School participated in the Boccia County Championships held in Billingham. Boccia is an inclusive sport which is very similar to a game of bowls, as the aim of the game is to get your ball (red or blue) as close to the white jack as possible. It is a brilliant game as it allows students with a wide range of disabilities to compete against one another. The students who represented Kirkleatham were Bradley Parfitt, Harry Dyson and Matthew Appleton. They started off with a hard fought victory against Pennyman School and then went all the way to the semi-finals, where they managed to defeat Beverley School. We then played against Durham Trinity School in the final and after a tense affair we won the game 3-1. The students were presented with a trophy and some medals and they have also qualified for the regional finals in Newcastle. Well done lads and we are very proud of your achievements.
