The sporty students at Kirkleatham Hall School were the biggest winners on a day of celebration at the second-ever £20,000 Sporting Golden Giveaway.
Our school topped a public poll ahead of 14 other local sports clubs and projects to win a £5,000 cash windfall from charitable movement Teesside Philanthropic Foundation.
Sport and PE is a “massive part” of education for the students, aged 2-19, who have a range of conditions including autism, Downs Syndrome, and from moderate to profound learning difficulties.
Purchasing an indoor curling set for the students is now top of the agenda for the school and continue to regularly hosts sports as wide-ranging as Soccability, netball, table tennis, swimming, athletics and wheelchair basketball.
We received the £5,000 prize in a special presentation at the Riverside Stadium – home of our patrons Middlesbrough FC – from Trudie Chapman of Foundation patrons, Cool Blue Brand Communications.
We want to thank everyone that voted and made this possible.
