Class 4 and 5 love to watch the many birds that visit the area outside their classrooms. To encourage different types of birds they fill the bird feeders with different types of bird food.
Each year the RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds) invite schools to take part in a survey recording how many birds they see on a certain day. They then count up the results and reveal which bird tops the charts. Class 4 have taken part in the survey for the past 6 years.
This year Class 4 and 5 counted the birds for half an hour on Friday 6th February. The most popular birds outside Class 4 were the Blue Tit and making several visits was the Nuthatch. We will have to wait to find out the national results.
