  • Peat Rigg

Mon 25 Mar 2013 Kevin Robson

We are considering organising an outward bounds residential at Peat Rigg in the North York Moors National Park and would like to know whether you would be interested in your child attending. If you would like to have a look at Peat Rigg click the link http://www.peatrigg.co.uk/

The dates we would be looking at should the residential go ahead would be between the 7th-10th May 2012 and for Key Stage 3 students in classes 7,8 and 9

The staff at Peat Rigg are all fully trained outward bound instructors used to working with children with special educational needs. All the meals, activities and accommodation are provided on site with activities being planned for the whole day including the evening. However as a result of this support the cost for the school is quite high. We will subsidise as much of the trip as possible but would request a voluntary contribution of £100 if you would like your child to attend, this amount can be paid in one lump sum or in smaller instalments over the next few months, whichever is most suitable for yourselves.

If you are interested in your child attending then if you could return the slip at the bottom of the form that was sent home.

If we receive enough positive responses to make the trip viable then I will inform you as soon as possible.

If the trip does go ahead then I will invite you in to school to discuss any individual concerns you may have but in the mean time if you would like any further information then please do not hesitate to be in touch.

    Many thanks,

    Paul McLean, Assistant Head Teacher

  • Red Nose Day

Mon 11 Mar 2013 Kevin Robson

For Red Nose Day we are giving staff and pupils the opportunity to take part in various activities in school throughout the day on Friday 15 March including the opportunity for staff and pupils to come dressed in ‘Bad Taste and to have Wacky Hair’.  We are suggesting a £1 donation or more for the days events to hopefully raise money and become involved in supporting such a great cause.

Over the next two weeks we are also selling ‘the nose with toes’, the three wonderful diNOSEaurs illustrated below so if you would like to purchase one of the noses please send in a £1 donation for each nose in a clearly marked envelope with your son/daughters name on.

Thank you for your continued support.

  • Easter Eggstravaganza

Mon 11 Mar 2013 Kevin Robson

We are holding an ‘Eggstravaganza’ along with our PTA in the school this year to raise funds that can be put towards Residential Visits for our students.  Parents are invited into school 10.00am – 11.00am where we will be holding a coffee morning in the large hall.

There will be a cake stall available.  If you would like to kindly donate a cake/cakes to the stall it would be very much appreciated.  We are also holding a raffle and will be selling tickets in school over the next few weeks at 20p a ticket or a £1 a strip.  Various prizes are available.

Again we would be very grateful if you would like to donate tins, bottles, packet food etc to put in a hamper as we are hoping to make a few hampers for the mornings event.

If you would like to purchase raffle tickets for the raffle please send the money in an envelope with the name of the pupil clearly marked.

Thank you for your continued support
