Dear Parents/Carers
We have had a number of pupil absences recently when school have not been notified of the reason.
In the case of absence please contact the school on the first morning to make sure we record the reason correctly.
The contact number for the school is 01642 483009 – if we are busy and there is no answer, please leave a message on the voicemail confirming the pupils name, class, reason for the absence and how long you expect it to last.
You can also email this information to kirkleathamhallschool@khs.rac.sch.uk
Please note if your child has sickness or diarrhoea it is school policy for the child to remain at home for 48 hours after their last bout of sickness or diarrhoea. We have taken this advice from the NHS Infection Control Policy.
Thank you
School has recently been successful in being awarded funding for our Land Services / Gardening Project for our students.
The grant award of £2,500 has come from The Ernest Cook Trust. The Ernest Cook Trust is one of the UK’s leading outdoor learning charities. Rooted in the conservation and management of the countryside, the Trust actively encourages children and young people to learn from the land through hands-on outdoor learning opportunities on its estates and by offering grants.
The funding will go towards protective clothing, boots, overalls, and equipment for our students taking part in the project.
Students will undertake the project in and around the school site as well as in Kirkleatham Village, and further afield.

Success for Kirkleatham Hall School. We have been successful in a bid to The National Lottery and we have been awarded £10,000 from the Big Lottery Fund. This will go towards the refurbishment of our pool. Having undertaken work in upgrading the changing areas of our swimming baths we are looking to develop and upgrade the wet side. The funding will go towards new sensory lighting, projection lighting, new sensory walls, sound / music facilities in the pool area, and new flooring around the pool.
The school is looking to undertake the work during the summer term and at the beginning of the autumn term 2016, with use by the school, clubs and wider community from October onwards.
We are delighted at the opportunity we have to develop our swimming pool with the monies we have been awarded. We are also looking to other funding streams to support this Big Lottery Grant.
