  • Kirkleatham Hall School are Boccia County Champions

Thu 19 Nov 2015 Kevin Robson
In November, 3 students from Kirkleatham Hall School participated in the Boccia County Championships held in Billingham.  Boccia is an inclusive sport which is very similar to a game of bowls, as the aim of the game is to get your ball (red or blue) as close to the white jack as possible. It is a brilliant game as it allows students with a wide range of disabilities to compete against one another. The students who represented Kirkleatham were Bradley Parfitt, Harry Dyson and Matthew Appleton. They started off with a hard fought victory against Pennyman School and then went all the way to the semi-finals, where they managed to defeat Beverley School. We then played against Durham Trinity School in the final and after a tense affair we won the game 3-1. The students were presented with a trophy and some medals and they have also qualified for the regional finals in Newcastle.  Well done lads and we are very proud of your achievements.

  • Girl Guides

Fri 13 Nov 2015 Kevin Robson
The 1st Kirkleatham Guide troop made their guide promise in front of an audience of parents and staff on Thursday 1 Nov. As well as speaking the promise they made a very good job of signing it at the same time. They also received the Traditions Of Guiding badge (off the District Commissioner) which they have been working towards over the last half term. The staff have been working hard in their own time over week nights and weekends to complete the Compulsory Leadership Programme and first aid to allow the group to run.
