Dear Parents/Carers
Devastatingly, over the summer one of our students passed away suddenly. Brody Cave was such a huge personality in school who touched the lives of everybody who had the opportunity to work with him.
Brody, had a smile that would light up the room, he was mischievous and playful and affectionate towards everybody he met.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of everything that has gone on in school we have not had opportunity to dedicate a day in Brody’s memory.
On Friday 27th November we would like to have a ‘superheroes’ day where we will take the time to remember Brody and celebrate his life. We would be very grateful if you could support us in this. If your child does not have a superhero costume then if they wear anything that is bright or colourful, which matches Brody’s fun, outgoing character.
If you would like to donate £1 towards this we will make a donation to Angelman UK a charity for children who suffer from Angelman Syndrome, as Brody did.

Dear Parents/Carers
On Wednesday afternoon, we received updated guidance around the full lockdown which commenced today.
The guidance can be found here:
This guidance relates to those people previously considered to be clinically extremely vulnerable. It contains a section relating to children which states the following:
Education settings
More evidence has emerged that shows there is a very low risk of children becoming very unwell from COVID-19, even for children with existing health conditions. Most children originally identified as clinically extremely vulnerable no longer need to follow this advice. Speak to your GP or specialist clinician, if you have not already done so, to understand whether your child should still be classed as clinically extremely vulnerable.
Those children whose doctors have confirmed they are still clinically extremely vulnerable are advised not to attend school while this advice is in place. Your school will make appropriate arrangements for you to be able to continue your education at home. Children who live with someone who is clinically extremely vulnerable, but who are not clinically extremely vulnerable themselves, should still attend school.
To summarise, the evidence obtained during the pandemic so far all points to children being at extremely low risk from Coronavirus. This includes children with existing medical conditions. However, there are a small number of children with specific conditions that are still deemed as clinically extremely vulnerable and these children should not be in school at present. If your son or daughter has previously been required to shield, please could you contact your GP or consultant to clarify if your child is able to continue to access school.
When dropping children off or picking them up from school, parents need to wear a face mask.
