    Autism Acceptance

    Awareness Week Celebrations

As a school, we acknowledge and support the unique qualities of each individual.

April highlights world autism month. To raise awareness and support we are carrying out a week of activities to celebrate autism acceptance from April 4th – April 8th 2022. Please do not purchase anything new for the occasion or feel obliged to join in every activity. Simply join in where your child is happy to do so!

    Monday 4th April

Magnificent Mind Monday – Autism is a neurological variation, which means the brains of autistic people work differently than the brains of non-autistic people, and that is amazing! Let us celebrate how amazing it is that all our minds work in different and wonderful ways by wearing a fun hat and/or hairstyle.

    Tuesday 5TH April

Neurodiversity Tuesday – To celebrate the beauty in the diverse spectrum of the human mind wear rainbow and/or colourful clothes.

    Wednesday 6th April

What is your Passion Wednesday – One characteristic of Autism is to show incredibly focused passion for topics of interest! What are you passionate about? Dress to show something you love.

    Thursday 7th April

Autism Acceptance Day – Love and acceptance go a long way. To show your support and acceptance of autistic individuals wear something red or gold.

    Friday 8th April

Sensory Friendly Friday – Autistic people often have a variety of sensory sensitivities. Wear your most comfortable clothes (this may include pj’s).

    Thank you for your support

    Dear Parents/Carers

We are writing to remind you that school will be closed on Monday 21st March.

As you will be aware, the Spring Bank Holiday in 2022 will be moved to Thursday 2nd June 2022 and an additional Bank Holiday on Friday 3rd June 2022 will see a four-day weekend to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

It is compulsory for all employers to provide an extra days Bank Holiday to celebrate this event.  Most schools will already be on their half-term breaks in the week commencing 30th May and so in order for schools to observe the Bank Holiday they will be required to do so on a different day.  The school will be taking this extra bank holiday on Monday 21st March and school will be closed for staff and pupils.

  • COVID Vaccines for Under 12 - 8th March 2022

    Tue 08 Mar 2022

8th March 2022 - COVID Vaccines for Under 12 Year olds

You will have seen in recent weeks the announcement from the Government regarding a rollout for the COVID vaccine for those children under the age of 12.  We are now aware that some families have already been contacted about getting their child vaccinated.  This is being done by direct contacted from the NHS.

There is still no intention that the vaccine will be rolled out through schools at this point.

Attached is some information from the DfE that we have come across for parents - the vaccine, what is being offered, timescales and questions and answers.

We will keep you updated if anything changes.
